Don Blumenthal, Senior Policy Advisor, Public Interest Registry
Don brings extensive legal, technical and policy expertise concentrating in security, abuse, and law enforcement related issues. He concentrates on those areas in his work for PIR, as well as matters related to ICANN accountability and transparency. Don is an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan School of Information and Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice, teaching courses on enterprise security planning, privacy and cybercrime and cybersecurity.  Prior to moving to Ann Arbor, Don worked at the Federal Trade Commission, where his last assignment was to create and manage the Internet Lab, the agency’s Internet investigations center. Don holds a certificate in Systems and Project Management from The American University, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. from Oberlin College.

David Daniels, CEO The Relevancy Group
David serves as strategic advisor to the OTA Board of directors, providing input into a range of issues impact the interactive marketing community and consumer experience.  According to Direct Magazine, David Daniels is "one of the most influential experts in email marketing, if not the most influential." Until January 2010 he served as Vice President and Principal Analyst with Forrester Research and JupiterResearch. David is co-author of the book "Email Marketing An Hour A Day" and has been a contributor to the Weekend Today Show on NBC. David has held senior level positions at Apple Computer, Urban Outfitters/Anthropologie, Micro/MacWarehouse, ProTeam and CDA Computer Sales.


Michael Osterman CEO - Osterman Research
As an industry expert in messaging technologies and business requirements, Michael aids the Board in review of key solutions to protect the integrity of online communications.  Michael is the principal of Osterman Research, Inc., founded in 2001. Since that time, the company has become one of the leading analyst firms in the messaging and collaboration space. Michael is a frequent speaker at industry events and authors columns on unified communications issues for Network World Fusion. Osterman Research provides market research, industry analysis reports, white papers, Webinars, surveys and related services for vendors and customers in the messaging, Web 2.0, social media, mobile, collaboration, information management and other markets.

Jules Polonetsky - Co-Chair, Future of Privacy Forum
Jules serves as Co-chair and Director of the Future of Privacy Forum. As AOL’s former Chief Privacy Officer and SVP for Consumer Advocacy, Jules was responsible for ensuring that AOL’s users could trust the company with their information and for educating employees about best practices for advertising, content, and product development. Jules previously served for four years as Vice President, Integrity Assurance, at America Online Inc. The Integrity Assurance team was responsible for a wide range of consumer protection and risk management issues for AOL’s brands (America Online, AIM, Netscape, Compuserve, Mapquest, MoviePhone, Spinner, WinAmp, ICQ, Advertising.com) including privacy, advertising policy, content and community standards, product standards, parental controls, safety and accessibility for users with disabilities.
Jules Polonetsky

Joe St Sauver, Ph.D.  - University of Oregon
Joe serves as Internet2's Nationwide Security Program Manager, and Manager of the InCommon (SSL and PKI) Certificate Program, under contract through the University of Oregon Computing Center.   He currently serves in a variety of advisory roles, including as one of half a dozen senior technical advisors for the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group, (MAAWG), as a member of the Team Cymru Dragon Research Group Advisory Council, and as a member of the Research and Education Network Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC) Technical Advisory Group. He also currently serves on the Higher Education Information Security Council Leadership Team, and participates on an FCC CSRIC Working Group, and is a member of the board of directors of CAUCE (the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email).   His Ph.D. is in Production and Operations Management from the University of Oregon Decision Sciences Department (Lundquist College of Business).

Mark Goldstein
Mark is founder and principal of SafeSecurePrivate, a cybersecurity and privacy consultancy. Ever since he was a senior advisor at AOL and went on “house calls” to customers’ homes to see first-hand the effects of malicious software on their lives, he has been passionate about protecting data. These customer visits resulted in AOL’s “safety and security” program which Mark led for three years. This program included the first free ISP-provided antivirus as well as backend enhancements which significantly reduced malware for AOL customers. At AOL he also reported to the chief privacy officer working on breach prevention/response, detecting vulnerabilities, and leading the industry’s first ad-hoc group fighting malvertising. Mark has a MBA in marketing from American University.
Mark Goldstein

Ellen Siegel, CIPP, Privacy & Industry Consultant
Ellen leverages her more than 20 years of experience in online communication technologies and practices to assist businesses with data privacy, security, and email services, and to serve as a technical advisor to the OTA. In her prior role as Director of Technology and Standards at Constant Contact, Inc., she worked to define and drive the adoption of industry best practices and standards to fight spam and support legitimate email while balancing privacy and security concerns. She has been a board member and Technical Committee co-chair for the Email Sender and Provider Coalition, and an active member of the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG) and the IETF Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) Working Group. Prior to joining Constant Contact, Siegel worked at Sun Microsystems where she led a number of projects including mobile computing and JavaCard security. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and an S.B. in Computer Science from MIT.
