Barry Abel

Barry has two decades of software industry sales, marketing and
product management experience. Prior to joining Message Systems, he served as
director of sales at Mindfabric, Inc., a supplier of enterprise-class natural
language processing, knowledge management and business rule processing
solutions, where he was responsible for recruiting the company’s first key
reference customers, partnerships and venture capital initiatives. Prior to
Mindfabric, Barry held executive sales, marketing and business development
positions at high-tech companies, including Critical Path, PeerLogic,
International Computers Limited (ICL) and Cap Gemini America. Barry
is a frequent speaker at conferences and is often quoted in industry
publications including DM News, Messaging News and Website Services Magazine to
name a few. He holds a B.S. degree in business management from the University of
Maryland.

David has 19 years of marketing experience with a wide range of emerging
technologies and software products and services. David is responsible for
managing the company's sales, marketing, business development and strategic
alliances. Prior to Goodmail, David was vice president of enterprise products
for Connectix Corporation, where he launched the company's Virtual Server
product up through acquisition by Microsoft. As executive vice president for
home networking pioneer Alation Systems (now part of Cypress Semiconductor) he
led marketing and business development for the company's wireless home
networking products. Prior David was vice president of marketing for Worldtalk
Corporation, later acquired by Tumbleweed Communications and managed reseller
sales for BeyondMail, served as IDC's senior analyst for electronic mail, and
worked in product marketing on Lotus Notes. He is a 1987 graduate of Tufts
University.

Kai Axford
Senior Security Strategist, Microsoft Corporation
Kai is responsible for discussing and recommending security solutions for both
private and public sector organizations. He is a frequent speaker at security
conferences, executive meetings, and business seminars around the world. Kai
is currently pursuing an MBA in Information Assurance and is a member of ISSA,
INFRAGARD, ASIS, and the North Texas Electronic Crimes Task Force. He was the
recipient of the 2006 “Rising Star” award from the Information Security
Executive council. Prior to Microsoft, Kai served as a leader in several
real-world operations with the U.S. Army's elite 75th Ranger Regiment.
Originally from Wisconsin, Kai is a huge NFL Green Bay Packers fan. He is based
in Dallas, Texas with his lovely wife and a (very wet) yellow Labrador.

David manages a global division that supports eCRM solutions for the entire
agency network. His team specializes in developing and delivering performance
driven email and integrated communication strategies spanning many B:B and B:C
Industry verticals. He has 15+ years experience in direct and interactive
marketing in senior roles at large agencies: OmniCom (Agency.com, Targetbase),
Direct Marketing Firms (DigitalThink, Franklin Covey and American Airlines) and
email technology startups (MindArrow and TwelveHorses). He is one of the early
pioneers of rich media email, integrated secure document delivery, and email/eCRM
response systems. His experience ranges from a myriad of industries including:
Aviation, Consumer Packaged Goods, Financial Services, Entertainment, Automotive

Michael Barrett
Chief information Security Officer, PayPal
Michael is responsible for ensuring the security of information systems and
services, as well as the integrity and confidentiality of customer and employee
information. Before joining PayPal, Michael was vice president of security and
utility strategy at American Express where he helped define the company’s
information-security program and directed its Internet technology strategy.
Previously, Michael was president of the Liberty Alliance, an open-standards
consortium focused on identity management standards and guidelines. Michael was
the driving force behind the introduction and standardization of the Alliance’s
federated identity concepts, and he also co-chaired its Identity Theft
Prevention Working Group. Barrett is both a certified information systems
security professional (CISSP) and a certified information security manager (CISM).
He graduated from Brighton University (U.K.), where he earned a bachelor of
science degree in computer science.

George Bilbrey

George Bilbrey is Return Path’s Vice President and General Manager of
Deliverability Assurance Solutions. As co-founder of Return Path, George helped
pioneer the deliverability space helping both marketers and ISPs understand and
overcome the challenges concerning email marketing deliverability. In addition
to his daily responsibilities at Return Path, George serves on the Board of the
Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group, otherwise known as MAAWG, and is the Chair
for the Email Sender and Provider Coalition and the Reputation Committee of the
Authentication and Online Trust Association. He holds a B.A. in Economics from
Duke University, and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business,
University of North Carolina.

Ken Blotteaux
Deputy Director, National Cyber-Forensics
and Training Alliance (NCFTA)
Mr. Blotteaux brings twenty-three years of private sector experience to
this position, specializing in organized retail, financial, and cyber
crime investigative strategies. Blotteaux is embedded with the FBI at
the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) in Fairmont, West Virginia,
serving as primary interface with the IC3 and the merchant/retail
industry. Mr. Blotteaux was critical to the development of the
LooksTooGoodToBeTrue.com website, an internet resource for information,
reporting and education for consumers who may be the victims of cyber
crime. Blotteaux has successfully deployed unique and aggressive
technology applications, in furtherance of investigations, which have
been adopted by federal and state law enforcement. Blotteaux has
consulted with the FBI Cyber Division on major domestic and
international initiatives and provides Cyber Investigative Training at
the FBI Training Academy at Quantico, Virginia. |

Stefan Brands
Principal Architect, Microsoft Canada
Stefan works closely with the Identity & Access Group on the technical
strategy and architecture of user-centric identity and access systems.
Outside of his work at Microsoft, Stefan serves as an adjunct professor
in modern cryptology at McGill University in Montreal. Prior to joining
Microsoft, Stefan worked for twelve years at three companies that
pioneered privacy-enhancing authentication technologies: Credentica
(minimal disclosure tokens), Zeroknowledge Systems (anonymous data
transport), and DigiCash (electronic cash). Stefan is the author of a
book on minimal disclosure tokens, published by The MIT Press . He
maintains a blog on digital identity at

Des Cahill

Des has transformed California-based Habeas from a
company best known for haiku poetry to the company that is building the
infrastructure for legitimate email. His background includes marketing,
sales and operations experience at some of America's best-known
technology companies (Apple Computer, America Online, Netscape) and
successful stints at some high-profile start-ups (Autonomy, BridgeSpan
and eFax.com). Prior to joining Habeas, Cahill was with BridgeSpan, a
Benchmark-Sequoia real-estate services firm where he directed marketing,
business and corporate development activities. Des is well known on the
email and anti-spam speaker circuit, and is an acknowledged authority on
sender accreditation and reputation. He advises senders on how to
establish their email reputation, and receivers on how to adopt
technologies to improve their ability to cost-effectively and reliably
process email streams. He is an evangelist for accountability in email.

VeriSign’s Security Services group, Tim ensures the effectiveness of

frequent engagement with customers, technologists, and industry insiders
alike leaves him uniquely positioned to view and comment on the cutting
edge of industry and technology trends with an eye to the customer's
perspective. Prior to VeriSign, Mr. Callan was Partner at high-tech
marketing firm VividHues and Vice President of Marketing at Santa Cruz
Networks. Before that, Mr. Callan held product management and marketing
roles at several business productivity software firms. As Product
Manager for WinFax Pro at Delrina Corporation, he drove that product to
become the best selling independent Windows application in the world.
Mr. Callan is an award-winning author of short fiction and a
festival-screened independent filmmaker. He received his B.A. in
English from UCLA.

Called the "dean of corporate privacy officers" by Inter@ctive Week
Magazine, Ray Everett-Church is an internationally recognized expert on
privacy law and Internet-related public policy. In 1999, he became the
world's first Chief Privacy Officer, creating a position that many of
the world's largest companies – including IBM, Microsoft, Bank of
America, AT&T and American Express – have emulated to help them manage
their privacy issues. Ray currently serves as Director of Policy &
Professional Services for Habeas, Inc. Previously he founded PrivacyClue
LLC, a privacy-oriented consultancy and served as VP for Consulting at
privacy and security consulting firm ePrivacy Group, where he worked
with more than a dozen Global 2000 corporations. He was part of the team
that built anti-spam technology company TurnTide Inc., which was sold to
Symantec in 2005. Prior to that, he worked at Internet advertising firm
AllAdvantage and as an attorney at a telecommunications law firm of
Haley Bader & Potts, PLC.

Spam Coordinator and Attorney, Federal Trade Commission
Sana Coleman Chriss is Spam Coordinator with the Federal Trade
Commission’s Division of Marketing Practices where she develops and
implements strategies related to spam and phishing. She organized the
FTC's 2007 Spam Summit and the FTC/NIST 2004 Email Authentication
Summit. She is the recipient of the agency's Paul Rand Dixon Award for
her work in consumer protection. Mrs.Chriss also served as an Attorney
Advisor for former FTC Chairman Deborah Platt Majoras. Prior to joining
the Commission, Mrs. Chriss was an associate with the law firm of Arent
Fox PLLC, where she specialized in telecommunications and intellectual
property law. Mrs. Chriss received her law degree from Georgetown
University Law Center and her undergraduate degree from Duke University.

Alissa Cooper

Alissa focuses on a range of issues including consumer privacy, spyware,
digital copyright, network neutrality, and identity management. She
conducts research into the inner workings of common and emerging
Internet technologies, and seeks to explain complex technical concepts
in understandable terms. She has appeared before the Federal Trade
Commission and the National Association of Attorneys General, and writes
regularly on a variety of technology policy topics. Alissa moved to the
Washington area after completing her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in
Computer Science at Stanford University. There her work focused on
computer security issues and their policy implications.

processes that enhance trust. Cullen is on the board of the IAPP,
and also sits on the board of TRUSTe, a group dedicated to protecting
privacy and building trust on the Internet. Before joining Microsoft,
Cullen served as the corporate privacy officer for the Royal Bank of
Canada (RBC), where he was responsible for influencing initiatives
relevant to the RBC Financial Group’s strategic approach to privacy.
Cullen holds an MBA with distinction from the Richard Ivey School of

Jim Fenton
Distinguished Engineer - Cisco Technology
Center
Mr. Fenton is responsible for defining a number of new initiatives
relating to user-centric identity, emergent collaboration, and e-mail
security. He is an active member of the design team for DomainKeys
Identified Mail (DKIM), and was the lead architect for one of its
predecessors, Identified Internet Mail. He has also recently been
responsible for defining a number of new initiatives relating to
router-based security. In previous roles at Cisco, Mr. Fenton has
managed development efforts relating to VoIP features for service
providers, store-and-forward fax, and was a key member of the team that
established Cisco in the dial access market. Mr. Fenton came to Cisco
from the acquisition of Combinet, Inc., where he was Director of
Technology and drove the introduction of IP and IPX routing to
Combinet's products. Mr. Fenton has Bachelor of Science and Master of
Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

responsibilities, Mr. Foley is also a member of the New York Times
Privacy Committee and the IAB E-Mail Committee. Before working at the
Times, Mr. Foley was an editor for Gaspedal, writing the popular "Damn,
I Wish I Thought of That" and "You Can Be An E-Mail Marketing
Supergenius" e-mail newsletters. When away from the office he can often

Partners - PricewaterhouseCoopers’ London based technology investment
group where he lead the Investment Selection team and was responsible
for financial technology sector investments. His earlier career focused
on strategy and M&A consulting across Asia and Europe within the
Financial Services and Technology sectors. Mr Goel holds degrees in
Commerce and Law from the University of NSW, Sydney and a Grad Dip in
Applied Finance & Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Lucy Hoffa
First Vice President, Service Excellence, Washington Mutual
Lucy has two decades of building financially successful multi-channel
approaches for customer acquisition and retention for major NW companies
such as Starbucks, AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile and REI. As a senior manager
in these companies, she was tasked with the ‘soup to nuts’ development
from database design to customer delivery systems. She was one of the
early innovators in multi-channel personalization deploying 1:1 targeted
offers and service treatments that were synchronized across the web,
call center and direct mail. Currently in senior corporate management
with WaMu, Lucy and her team have created a Service Leadership program
to identify, develop and manage key ‘moments of truth’ in a customer
lifecycle. This multi-faceted program links all customer channels for
all four business groups ( Retail, Home Loan, Card and Commercial). She
is an honors graduate of Seattle University and holds an MBA in
Management Information Systems from City University.

Jack Hogan

Jack runs technology, production, customer service, and general
operations. As head of the technology group, he has designed and developed many
of the company’s key systems and applications throughout its history. He has
extensive experience in systems integration and software development with a
strong emphasis in email technologies and web design. Mr. Hogan also is

business. Prior to that, Mr. Horan was CEO of About.com where he

site on the web. He also led the sale of the property to the New York Times
Company for $410 million in 2005. Prior to About.com, he served as President
and Chief Executive Officer of DevX.com, Inc., an Internet media company that
was later acquired by JupiterMedia Corporation. Mr. Horan spent 10 years at
International Data Group, a leading global technology media company, where he
spearheaded relationships with top advertisers on a worldwide basis, and also
served as Senior Vice President and Publisher of Computerworld. Prior to that
Mr. Horan spent more than 15 years in senior account management roles at leading
advertising agencies, including BBDO and Ogilvy & Mather.

Vice President, Marketing Services
As the ExactTarget VP, Marketing Services, Chip leads the teams responsible for
client success using our software – including email optimization and
deliverability services, design & deployment services and strategic consulting.
He was named to BtoB Magazine’s 2005 “Who’s Who in B-To-B,” for being a vocal
proponent of legitimate commercial email and an active lobbyist regarding spam
and privacy issues. Chip brings 18 years of direct marketing and ten years of
Internet marketing experience to ExactTarget. Prior to ExactTarget, Chip was the
senior director of marketing for Digital River, a leading e-commerce service
provider. At Digital River, Chip led the marketing services team and launched
the company's first email marketing program and various strategic online
marketing initiatives. In that role, Chip learned first-hand the deliverability
practices and procedures that prepared him for his current role. Prior to
Digital River, Chip spent nine years with direct marketing giant Fingerhut
Corporation. While at Fingerhut, Chip held roles in marketing, merchandising and
promotion management. Chip managed marketing and online advertising for
Fingerhut's liquidation site, Andy's Garage Sale.com. Chip holds a degree in
economics and management from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, as well as
marketing MBA coursework at St. Thomas University in Minneapolis.

Rajiv Jain

Rajiv is responsible for overseeing AGI's global technology activities across
all businesses, leading new product development efforts and expanding the
company's robust technology infrastructure. Mr. Jain comes to AGI from
Cingular/AT&T Wireless, where he was instrumental in founding the company's B2B
eCommerce unit. As general manager, he managed a team of engineers, project
managers, marketing managers and user interface designers. Previously, he was
vice president of core products at Portal Software. He also held several
positions at IBM, including director of strategy for their Pervasive Computing
division where he led a major partnership with Nokia and Sun Microsystems. He
was also director of IBM's Java Technology Center in Silicon Valley and

David is the Chairman of the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG), the
industry association focused on eliminating the identity theft and fraud
that result from the growing problem of phishing and email spoofing.
Founded in 2003, the APWG has over 2,000 corporate and government
members, and provides a forum to discuss phishing and crimeware issues
and evaluations of potential technology solutions. David is also the
Chief Executive Officer of IronKey, maker of the world's most secure
flash drive with Internet protection services. David's career in
Internet security spans more than 10 years, having held senior
management positions at Tumbleweed Communications, Valicert, Teros and
Differential. He holds numerous U.S. patents, and has a Master of
Science degree from University of Calgary, Canada.

Jerry is responsible for planning and

capabilities for collaborating with researchers world-wide.
PNNL,

Harry Katz
Lead Program Manager, Windows Live Safety
Platform - Microsoft Corp.
Harry is a lead program manager for anti-spam with the Windows Live Safety
Platform group at Microsoft. He is responsible for delivering anti-spam
technology and services to product groups across Microsoft, including
Windows Live Hotmail, Exchange Server, Forefront Server and Outlook. Harry
helped develop and drive Sender ID, an industry-wide approach to dealing
with the problem of email spoofing and phishing. Previously Harry was
responsible for the email hygiene capabilities of Exchange Server. Since
joining Microsoft 10 years ago, he has also worked on Exchange connectors
and developer tools. Prior to Microsoft, Harry worked as a project manager
with LinkAge Software on a variety of email gateway and directory

Special Agent Lynd is a 1989 Graduate of the United States Military Academy at

A web-oriented software engineer by training, with 30 years of IT experience at
companies such as IBM and Bank of America, Craig now spends his days working as
a customer service rep at craigslist. In 1999, Craig retired from IT consulting
to work full-time on craigslist. What started as a fun side project in Craig's
living room has since grown into one of the busiest sites on the internet,
helping people with basic day-to-day needs such as finding a job, an apartment
and a date, all within a culture of trust. Craig continues to embrace his inner
nerd though he no longer wears thick black glasses that are held together with
tape, and he retired the plastic pocket protector some years ago. Craig is
involved with a variety of community efforts and is particularly interested in
organizations promoting public diplomacy, mideast peace and new forms of media
such as participatory journalism. He's on the boards of Sunlight Foundation,

joining IronPort Systems, Peterson held engineering and marketing management
positions at Savi Technology, including managing the Engineering and

Peterson played a critical role during the sale of the company to Texas
Instruments and also in winning a $111 million competitively bid logistics
contract. Peterson holds bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical
engineering from Stanford University and holds patents related to antennas,

John Scarrow

John is responsible for managing Microsoft’s companywide initiatives for
Anti-Phishing/Malware URL support for Internet Explorer and other products
in addition to anti-spam and family safety services. John came to Microsoft
in 1992 as a Program Manager, and since that time has held diverse roles
throughout the MSN/Live services and the Windows division. As General
Manager of MSN.com and MSNBC.com, he oversaw a complex reorganization
process that consolidated MSN media properties and streamlined the
organization to improve the customer experience and increase profits. During
that time he was on the board of directors for MSNBC and managed efforts for
contributing MSN products such as MSN Autos, MSN Money, and a host of other
media sites. Before running these media sites John spent two years
delivering a host of platform technologies to support these sites including
a site-wide replacement of the end-to-end brand advertizing platform. As a
General Manager, he was also instrumental in creating the eHome division.

Cliff Seltzer

GE Structured Finances e-Business team in 1999. Prior to joining GE, Cliff

catalog, NG Channel, films, books, DVDs, maps, and interactive media. Lauren’s

industry, business and governmental organizations. Craig is the Steering

Chairman of the Board for the Messaging Anti-Abuse Work Group. Charles

Advertising Bureau (IAB). Mike joined IAB in January of 2007 and runs
their Washington D.C. office. Prior to joining IAB, Mike served as
Executive Director of Technology and E-Commerce at the U.S. Chamber of
Commerce. As the chief technology and telecommunications lobbyist, he
oversaw issues affecting the business community pertaining to
telecommunications, data security, intellectual property,
counterfeiting, piracy, online and consumer privacy, and e-commerce.
Prior to joining the Chamber's lobby team, Mike served as the
organization's Director of Technology Policy. He has worked in politics
for the past 12 years in Washington, D.C. and Michigan. He received his
bachelors degree from Michigan State University and both his J.D. and
Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University. |
