Online Trust Alliance expands international alliances to help
protect consumers from online abuse Elects New Board Members and
Officers to support growth
Seattle WA, – March 23 – The Online Trust Alliance today announced an
expanded board, bringing in leaders in the fields of interactive
advertising, brand protection, domain management and identity theft
protection. OTA’s expanded board
includes executives from MarkMonitor, Message Systems Intersections Inc,
Publishers Clearing House, and TRUSTe.
OTA membership has doubled in this past two years with members representing
leading financial institutions and US Government Agencies including the US
Postal Inspectors Service and US Treasury while expanding collaboration and
partnership with international organizations including the
Antiphishing Working Group (APWG), Broadband for America, eco, The German
Internet Association, London Action
Plan, Singapore Direct Marketing Association and
the US Chamber of Commerce.
In addition, the Board elected Manish Goel, CEO of BoxSentry as Chairman,
Craig Spiezle, Executive Director of OTA as President, Dianna Koltz,
Director of Compliance at Adperio as Treasurer and Tom Bartel, VP of
Receiver & Certification Services at Return Path as Secretary.
The Board members and officers were elected based on their long-term
commitment to online trust, industry leadership and subject matter
expertise. They join current board member and steering committee companies
including Cisco, Datran Media, DigiCert, Internet Identity, Lashback, McAfee,
Microsoft, Secunia, TRUSTe and VeriSign.
Coinciding with the celebration of OTA’s Fifth Anniversary, OTA will be
hosting the Online Trust and Cybersecurity Forum at Georgetown University on
September 22-24, 2010. Over 400 international attendees are expected
including representative from business, industry, government and academia.
The event will highlight industry best practices, technology advances and
public policy initiatives designed to protect consumer trust in e-business.

OTA accomplishments this past year include the development of Online Trust
Principles, Proposed Standardized Data & Collection and Privacy Statement,
and a Data Breaching Readiness Guide for businesses.
